The D-Day has finally arrived. After over two months of exciting cricket, we have come down to the final of the 2024 season of the Indian Premier League which will witness Kolkata Knight Riders take the stage alongside Sunrisers Hyderabad at the MA Chidambaram Stadium on May 26.
IPL is known to be the most lucrative T20 tournament and we have witnessed in auctions that franchises have spent lots of money in picking up a player. However, the IPL 2024 final will see huge money being awarded to the teams and players. The total prize money that BCCI has allotted for the teams in the ongoing season of the cash-rich league is INR 46.5 crore.
Diving deep into the total purse, it is known that the winner of the IPL 2024 final which be getting INR 20 crore while the losing side of the summit clash will take home the cash prize of INR 13 crore. It will be interesting to see which team comes out on top in the ultimate showdown. Moreover, Rajasthan who finished third in the tournament will receive the amount of INR 7 crore and given Royal Challengers Bengaluru made it to the Eliminator, they will garner the cheque of INR 6.5 crore.
Besides the team prize money, there are many individual awards lined up after the IPL final. The Emerging Player of the tournament has the highest individual cash prize and he will receive INR 20 lakh. Tristan Stubbs, Sai Sudharsan and Jake Fraser McGurk are the top candidates for the award.
The Orange Cap Holder which will most likely be Virat Kohli will take home INR 15 lakh and Purple Cap Holder will get the same amount. Currently, Jasprit Bumrah is at the top of the wickets column and will likely stay at the position after the summit clash.
The Power Player of the Season and Super Striker of the Season will also receive 15 lakh. Besides the mentioned awards, one will also have the prize for the Most Valuable Player and Game Changer of the Season will get INR 12 lakh for the sensational performance in the 17th IPL edition.
