August 9, 2024 at 7:45 AMDuring their next tour, the Indian cricket team will play Australia's Prime Minister's XI in a two-day, day-and-night encounter. Between the first two Tests of the five-match Border-Gavaskar Trophy series, which begins in Perth on November 22, there will be this match. This is the first time Australia and India will play a five-Test series since the 1991–1992 season.
The game at Canberra's Manuka Oval on November 30 and December 1 is slated to take place against the Prime Minister's XI. In order to help India get ready for the day-night Test match in Adelaide, which is akin to the one they played on their most recent tour in 2020–21, Cricket Australia included this match.
Additionally, Cricket Australia stated that the Prime Minister's XI match this year will showcase the close cricket relations that Australia and India have shared since India's independence in 1947. The fact that the event will be played over two days will also be a historic first. The 48 matches between the ATSIC Chairman's XI and visiting teams, which date back to 1951, were once one-day affairs.
