Reddy’s unbeaten 105 helped India reach 358/9, cutting Australia’s lead to 116 runs before rain ended Day 3 early. With the flat MCG pitch offering little to bowlers, India is now well-placed to save the match.
Reddy’s performance has been a highlight of the series for India. His critical 127-run partnership with Washington Sundar (50 off 162 balls) turned the game after India was struggling at 191/6 following Rishabh Pant’s dismissal.
Cricket legend Sunil Gavaskar praised Reddy’s knock as one of the finest in Test history, given the pressure-filled situation. A straight drive off Scott Boland stood out as a defining moment, with Reddy celebrating by acknowledging the Indian dugout, which greeted him with a standing ovation.
The 21-year-old added flair to his achievements by striking the ‘Pushpa’ pose after his fifty and the ‘Bahubali’ pose to mark his century, leaving fans with unforgettable memories of his performance.
