Rishabh Pant’s comeback is no less than a miracle. He made a dream comeback after the major accident he faced in the year 2022. After his brilliant form in the IPL 2024, he got selected in the India squad for the T20 World Cup. The coach Rahul Dravid and captain Rohit Sharma gave Pant the chance to play over Sanju Samson.

Pant currently stands at the top in the charts for India scoring 96 runs in 3 matches so far. The management gave him the responsibility of batting at number 3 ahead of players Suryakumar Yadav and Hardik Pandya and he gave his best through his performance.

While the batting icons of team India failed to score in the T20 World Cup campaign. Virat Kohli failed to score a single double-digit score while the Indian skipper has just played one excellent knock scoring a half-century against Ireland. Both the stars struggled to score runs against Pakistan and United States of America (USA).

I DIDN’T EXPECT HIM TO BAT AT NO.3 – SANJAY MANJREKAR

In an interview, Manjrekar said that the team wants more and more impact players at every position and he didn’t expect Pant to bat at no.3 but the move has turned out to be a brilliant move, starting from the warm-up match against Bangladesh.

“They (team management) want more and more impact players, at every position down the order, and Rishabh Pant, I didn’t expect him to be batting at No.3, and what a brilliant move it has turned out to be, starting from that warm-up game against Bangladesh, when Samson and Rohit Sharma took some time to get used to the surface.”

PANT’S BRILLIANT PERFORMANCE

According to Manjrekar, Pant has been India’s best batter in the tournament so far and he played a brilliant knock on a difficult pitch where most of the players failed to score.

Manjrekar praises Pant and said,

“Pant has shown his class. He has been India’s best batter in this tournament so far, and on a difficult pitch, and that is Rishabh Pant’s class. That they gave him the No.3 slot also ensured that India don’t have six right-handers like they had in that 50-over World up and the only left-hander India had was Jadeja at No.7.”

Team India has qualified for the Super 8s of the T20 World Cup after the continuous win in the campaign. Now, India will be clashing with Afghanistan on June 20 at Barbados, with Bangladesh on June 22 at Antigua, and with Australia on June 24 at St. Lucia.
