Just like cricket is spread all over the world with that you'll be finding Indian players spread in International teams in some or the other quantity because some of them didn't got a chance in the Indian team. So, today we'll be discussing the Indian-origin players.
There are a total of 20 teams competing in the tournament out of which a total of 30 players of Indian origin are seen in 7 teams, and if the Indian team squad is included, a total of 50 Indians are playing for the T20 World Cup title and with that, this year's tournament promises to be a wonderful sight. This huge rise in participation shows how the cricket world is changing and how many other developing countries are also taking part in the tournament making it more interesting.
LIST OF INDIAN PLAYERS FROM THE TEAMS PARTICIPATING IN THE T20 WORLD CUP 2024
USA (United States)
1. Monank Patel
Monank Patel is an Indian-born American cricketer born on May 1, 1993, in Anand, Gujarat, India. He played for Gujarat in the under-16 and under-18 tournaments. Currently, he represents the USA in the T20 World Cup and is the captain of the team.
Patel received the green card in 2010 and after that, he moved to the USA permanently in 2016. In the year 2019, he made his debut for the US in a T20I match against the UAE. He also made his ODI debut in that year only against Papua New Guinea. Before the 2021 T20 World Cup America Qualifiers, Monank played his first List-A cricket match in 2018 and was selected as the captain of the United States. The 31-year-old has played 47 ODIs and scored 1446 runs, alongside 507 runs from 27 T20Is. In Major League Cricket (MLC), he played for MI New York.
2. Nisarg Patel
Nisarg Patel is also an Indian-born cricketer. He was also born in the same place as Monank in Gujarat.
Patel attended school in India before moving to the United States (US) as a teenager. He holds a master’s degree in pharmaceutical science, and worked in England for many years at an American pharmaceutical company, obtaining British citizenship. He made his senior USA debut against Canada in 2017, played 41 ODIs and 21 T20Is so far.
3. Saurabh Netravalkar
Saurabh Netravalkar was born in Mumbai and was one of the players who represented India at the U19 World Cup in 2010, which featured KL Rahul. He played domestic cricket for Mumbai, gave up playing the sport to shift to the USA, and pursued a career in software engineering at Cornell University. He is a software engineer who is currently working for Oracle.
Sourabh plays for the United States and was the star of the USA cricket team in the win against Pakistan. He played Washington Freedom in the MLC in 2023.
4. Harmeet Singh
Harmeet is also one of the players who were a part of the Indian squad that won the 2012 U19 World Cup under Unmukt Chand’s captaincy. He was born on September 7, 1992, and played domestic cricket for Tripura. He quit Indian cricket in 2020 and moved to the USA after a year. He made his USA debut earlier this year, in a T20I against Canada in April. He played for the Seattle Oscars in the MLC in 2023.
5. Milind Kumar
Milind was born on February 15, 1991, in Delhi, an Indian-born cricketer who currently plays for the United States national team. He represented his state in the Ranji Trophy and played for Sikkim and Tripura. He scored 1331 runs in the year 2018-19 with Sikkim and ended as the top-scorer that season.
Milind was a part of the Delhi Capitals and Royal Challengers Bengaluru teams in the IPL in the years 2014 and 2019 but failed to play a single game. He retired from Indian cricket in the year 2021 and moved to the States. He played for the Texas Super Kings in the MLC in 2023 and made his debut for the USA earlier this year in a T20I against Canada in April.
6. Nitish Kumar
Nitish played in the 2011 World Cup at the age of 16 and represented Canada at that time. He played a key role in his team’s historic win over Pakistan in the T20 World Cup.
In an interview with ANI, he said, “I was born in Canada, my brother and father came here from India. I like all the players from India and many of their players are among the best in the world, we respect them.”
7. Nosthush Kenjige
Nostush Kenjige was born in Auburn, Alabama, USA to a Tamil-American family. He moved to Ooty with his parents as a child and used to be a left-arm medium pacer before switching to spin at the age of 13. When he turned 18, Kenjige's parents sent him to Bangalore, where he played in KSCA's First Division League. But later when he realized that it was difficult to play for the Karnataka State team, he moved back to his birth country USA, and decided to pursue a course in Bio-Medical Engineering. But later he got a chance to play for the USA National team.
NEW ZEALAND
1. Rachin Ravindra
Rachin Ravindra was born on November 18, 1999, is a New Zealand international cricketer. He made his international debut for the New Zealand cricket team in September 2021. In the year 2023, he was signed by the Chennai Super Kings in the auction for the IPL2024.
CONNECTION WITH INDIA
Rachin has a special connection with India. His grandfather Balakrishna Adiga is a renowned educationist in India. He started his cricketing journey after being influenced by legendary cricketer Sachin Tendulkar since childhood. He started playing cricket in Wellington at the age of five and traveled to Bangalore every year to play club cricket.
2. Ish Sodhi
Ish Sodhi is a New Zealand cricketer born on 31 October 1992 in Punjab, India who represents the New Zealand national cricket team in all formats.

Sodhi is a Punjabi, born in Ludhiana, India to a Sikh family. His grandparents hail from Lahore in Pakistan pre-partition. He moved to Papatoetoe, New Zealand with his family when he was four years old.
SOUTH AFRICA
Keshav Maharaj
Keshav Maharaj is a South African professional cricketer born on February 7, 1990. He represents the South Africa national team in Tests, ODI and T20I cricket. He made his first-class debut at the age of 16 for KwaZulu-Natal during the 2006-07 season.

Maharaj was born in a Hindu family. He is of Indian ancestry, his great-grandfather hailed from Sultanpur, Uttar Pradesh, India, and migrated to Durban in 1874.
CANADA
1. Navneet Dhaliwal
Navneet Dhaliwal is an Indian-born Canadian cricketer and was the captain of the Canada national cricket team. He made his List A debut in the 2015 ICC World Cricket League Division Two tournament for Canada against the Netherlands on January 17, 2015. In January 2018, he was named in Canada’s squad for the 2018 ICC World Cricket League Division Two tournament.
In October 2021, he was named as the captain of Canada’s squad for the 2021 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Americas Qualifier tournament in Antigua. In February 2022, he was again named as captain of the national side for the 2022 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Global Qualifier A tournament in Oman.
2. Shreyas Mova
Shreyas Mova’s full name is Shreyas Vasudevareddy Movva. He is an Indian-born Canadian cricketer. In October 2019, he was named as the vice-captain of Canada’s squad for the 2019-20 Regional Super 50 tournament in the West Indies. On November 8, 2019 he made his List A debut for Canada against the Leeward Islands. He made his T20I debut for Canada against Panama in the Regional finals.
He is a software engineer by profession. Born in India and moved to Montreal in 2016 to attend Concordia University.
3. Dilpreet Singh Bajwa
Dilpreet Singh Bajwa is an Indian-born Canadian cricketer. He plays for Canada as an all-rounder. He was born in Gurdaspur, Punjab India. He completed his education at Guru Arjun Dev Senior Secondary School in Dhariwal.
Dilpreet in the year 2023 September earned his maiden call-up to the national team for the 2023 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Americas Qualifier. He made his T20I debut on September 30, 2023 against Bermuda.
In May 2024, he was named to Canada’s squad for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup.
4. Ravinder Pal Singh
Ravinder Pal Singh After moving to Canada from India, Singh made his T20 International debut for Canada against the Cayman Islands. A right-handed batsman, his highest score is 101 runs. With a batting average of 28.04 and a strike rate of 147.25, Ravinder Pal has emerged as an important player for Canada.

Singh was part of the Indian team which competed at the 1979 Junior Hockey World Cup. He made his maiden Olympics appearance at the age of 20, represented India during the 1980 Summer Olympics, and played an important role in the winning of the team.
5. Pargat Singh
Pargat Singh is a Canadian cricketer of Indian origin. He was born in Rupnagar, Punjab. Pargat made his first-class debut for Punjab in the 2015–16 Ranji Trophy on 22 October 2015, he has also played for Punjab in the Vijay Hazare Trophy and Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. Pargat made his T20I debut for Canada against Bahrain on 14 November 2022 and is currently in Canada's T20 World Cup 2024 squad.

Singh is a hockey player turned politician in India and belongs to the Indian National Congress in Punjab. He is a former Indian hockey player. He captained the Indian men’s hockey team at the 1992 Barcelona Olympics and the 1996 Atlanta Olympics.
6. Nikhil Datta
Nikhil Dutta is a Canadian cricketer who has represented the Canada national cricket team since the year 2013 as a right-arm off-spin bowler. He was born on October 13, 1994, in Kuwait City. He is the son of Bengali parents originally from Kolkata, India. His family moved to Canada in 1999 and settled in Toronto.

1. Tajinder Singh
Tajinder Singh is a Canadian cricketer of Indian origin. He was born on 25 May 1992 in Dholpur, Rajasthan. He made his first-class debut for Rajasthan on 6 October 2017 as a batsman in the Ranji Trophy. Tajinder was bought by Mumbai Indians and Kings XI Punjab in the IPL 2018 and 2020 auctions.
Tajinder is currently a reserve player in Canada's squad for the T20 World Cup 2024.
OMAN
1. Kashyap Prajapati
Kashyap Prajapati’s full name is Kashyapkumar Harishbhai Prajapati. He is an Indian-born cricketer who plays for the Oman cricket team.
Prajapati made his ODI debut on 26 September 2021, against Papua New Guinea, and his T20I debut was also against Papua New Guinea. In May 2024, he was named in Oman’s squad for the 2024 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup tournament.
2. Pratik Athavale
Pratik’s full name is Pratik Shrikant Athavale, born on April 20, 1997 Nasik, Maharashtra. He is an Indian-born cricketer who plays for the Oman team, as a right-handed batsman.
He has played a total of 14 matches in his T20 career, scored 261 runs with an average of 26, and smashed 25 fours and 9 sixes.
3. Ayaan Khan
Ayaan’s full name is Ayaan Mohammed Khan, an Indian-born cricketer born on August 30, 1992, in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh (MP). He made his T20 debut on January 10, 2016 for MP in the 2015-16 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy tournament in India.
Khan made his ODI debut in the year 2021 for Oman against Nepal and his T20 debut also in the same year against Papua New Guinea. In May 2024, he was named in Oman’s squad for the 2024 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup tournament.
4. Shoaib Khan
Shoaib Khan is an Indian-born cricketer who plays for the Oman cricket team. He was born on December 6, 1992. He made his ODI debut on September 14, 2021, against Nepal and T20I debut was also against Nepal on February 11, 2022.

1. Jatinder Singh
Jatinder Singh is an Indian-born cricketer who plays for the Oman national cricket team. Singh was born on March 5, 1989, in Ludhiana, Punjab, India. He is a member of the Ramgarhia carpenter caste within the Sikh community.
Singh represented the Omani under-19 in five matches at the 2007 ACC under-19 Elite Cup. He made his ODI debut on April 27, 2019, against Namibia and his T20I debut on July 25, 2015 against Afghanistan.
In May 2024, he was named as a reserve player in Oman’s squad for the 2024 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup tournament.
2. Samay Shrivastava
Samay Shrivastava is an Indian-born cricketer born on March 13, 1991, in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh. He plays for the Oman cricket team. Talking about his cricket career in T20, he has played 7 matches scoring 96 runs with an average of 15.50.
Currently, he is on the list of reserve players in Oman’s squad for the 2024 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup tournament.
3. Jay Odedra
Jay Odedra is an Indian-born cricketer who plays for the Oman national cricket team. In January 2018, he was named in Oman’s squad for the 2018 ICC World Cricket League Division Two tournament. He made his ODI debut against PNG on 14 August 2019 and T20I debut on 13 February.
In May 2024, he was named as a reserve player in Oman’s squad for the 2024 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup tournament.

1. Vikramjit Singh
Vikramjit Singh is an Indian-born Dutch cricketer. He made his debut for the Netherlands national cricket team in the year 2019.
Singh was born on January 9, 2003, in Cheema Khurd, Punjab, India to a Sikh family. He made his ODI debut on 20 June 2022 against New Zealand and his T20I debut on 19 September 2019 against Ireland.
In May 2024, he was named in the Netherlands squad for the 2024 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup tournament.
2. Aryan Dutt
Aryan Dutt is a Dutch cricketer born on 12 May 2003, who plays for the Netherlands national cricket team. He made his ODI debut against Scotland on 19 May 2021 against Scotland and his T20I debut on 17 April 2021 against Nepal.

Teja Nidamanuru’s full name is Anil Teja Nidamanuru. He was born on 22 August 1994 in Vijayawada, India. He is an Indian-born Dutch cricketer who plays for the Netherlands cricket team. He made his ODI debut against West Indies on May 31, 2022, and his T20I debut on July 11, 2022 against PNG.

UGANDA
1. Alpesh Ramjani
Alpesh Ramjani’s full name is Alpesh Ravilal Ramjani. He is an Indian-born cricketer, born on 24 September 1994 in Mumbai, India. He plays for the Uganda national cricket team. In his school time he played alongside Shreyas Iyer, Shivam Dube, and Suryakumar Yadav. He moved to Uganda to play cricket after he lost his job in the COVID-19 pandemic. He was invited to Uganda by Ugandan national team player Dinesh Nakrani, a family friend of his.
In May 2024, he was named in Uganda’s squad for their maiden World Cup performance at the 2024 ICC men’s T20 World Cup. He played his first match at the World Cup on June 3, 2024, against Afghanistan.
2. Dinesh Nakrani
Dinesh Nakrani is an Indian-born cricketer who represents the Uganda cricket team. He was born on 21 September 1991 in Kutch, Gujarat, India. He made his T20 debut for Saurashtra against Maharashtra in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy in India on March 31, 2014.
3. Raunak Patel
Raunak Patel is an Indian-origin Canadian cricketer. He was born in the city of Anand, Gujarat.
Patel has been fond of playing cricket since childhood and he has also played cricket at the district level. In 2017, on the insistence of a friend, he came to Uganda to play cricket and made a place in the Ugandan national team by performing well in the regional cricket tournament. Left-handed batsman Ronak has 779 runs to his name in 38 T20 International matches.
