December 31, 2024 at 8:28 AM2024 was a mixed year for the Indian men’s cricket team. They started off strong, having won the T20 World Cup in the Caribbean, but the year ended on a disappointing note. India lost to Australia by 184 runs in the Boxing Day Test in Melbourne, which was a tough pill to swallow.
There were other setbacks too, like losing an ODI series to Sri Lanka and a home Test series to New Zealand. In total, India played 15 Test matches in 2024, winning 8, losing 6, and drawing 1. They only played one ODI series, which ended in a loss to Sri Lanka.

India will start 2025 with the last Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy against Australia at the Sydney Cricket Ground, which is a must-win match if they want to stay in the race for the World Test Championship final.
After that, the focus shifts to the Champions Trophy in February, where India will play their opening match against Bangladesh on February 20 in Dubai.
