The Dallas Cricket League was founded in 2003. It has a strong commitment to developing the cricket community going forward. With a mission to promote cricket as a mainstream modern sport and enable all players, regardless of background, to enjoy league games responsibly through an established league framework and sports stewardship in collaboration with city, park, and recreation officials, DCL is a nonprofit organization (under IRC Section 501[c][3]).
In Texas, DCL is in charge of the establishment and management of the fun, contemporary, and digitalized cricket league. As a thought leader and catalyst for change, it is among the biggest cricket leagues in the United States.
The DCL was established as the result of a concerted effort to establish a single organization that would oversee and develop all forms of cricket that are viable and appropriate for youngsters, women, and men in the United States. Hundreds of teams, clubs, juniors, kids, and enthusiasts are a part of DCL. In order to meet the demands of players, locals, and communities, it provides an entertaining cricket cuisine. In order to grow the game's player base, improve standards across the board, and elevate cricket above its current status as a developing sport, DCL has completely changed the way cricket is run in Texas.
DCL has direct relationships with over fifteen cities, which include departments of parks and recreation, officials, local cricket associations, cricket clubs, independent teams, and organizers. With over 5000 fans, 15 cricket venues, and over 2500 active cricket players, DCL currently organizes over 1400 T20 matches annually in addition to a number of competitions.

The vast DFW region offers a unique setting for playing and enjoying cricket, from the fields in small, serene towns with adjacent lakes or churches in the background to Dallas downtown with its stunning skyscrapers. At DCL, we take pride in our traditions and enjoy playing competitive cricket in a relaxed setting both on and off the field. We provide a setting where skill develops naturally and is rewarded with competitive league cricket, all without sacrificing the game's core principles of fair play and teamwork. Cricket players of various abilities can practice and play in a squad that best fits their own goals.

Major League Cricket (MLC) is America's premier franchise cricket league. The Super Kings franchise, which owns the Texas franchise, has announced that it will open an academy to develop the sport at the grassroots level in the Dallas Metropolitan Area, home of the team.

After successful offshoots in London and Tamil Nadu, the location—which will be in Lewisville, a Dallas suburb—will formally become Super Kings’ eighth cutting-edge training facility.  The Super Kings Academy's Director of Cricket, Louis Mariano, also spoke up to express his excitement over the opening of a new academy. He believed that an academy in Dallas may be very beneficial to the team's future goals, especially because the Super Kings hold the Texas franchise.
“We're super-excited about bringing Super Kings Academy to the USA and see a tremendous potential for the growth of the sport, our ability to contribute to grassroots cricket to take it more mainstream, and taking existing talent to the next level. Dallas being the home base for Texas Super Kings, we're even more thrilled to launch our first academy there, as it creates strong synergies with our long-term plans in the market,” Louis Mariano said.

Notably, there are eight cricket academies in the Dallas metro region, and each year over 600 children enrolled in the program. An indoor facility including six full-length cricket lanes outfitted with video analysis capabilities will serve as the academy's initial location.

Additionally, children will have access to outdoor fields for regular match practice. How cricket is grown in the region may be greatly influenced by Super Kings' involvement in the sport's grassroots development. It might be quite advantageous for the young people and prospective cricket players if they can hold onto control of the Dallas metro region. The academy's launch may herald a new era in American cricket and have a profound impact on the game there.

New York, Dallas and Florida to host USA leg of 2024 T20 World Cup

The ICC has declared that New York, Texas, and Florida will host the USA leg of the 2024 T20 World Cup after earlier this year's inspections.

The ICC will expand the stadium capacity in both Grand Prairie, Texas, and Broward County, Lauderhill, Florida, even though both locations currently have the infrastructure needed to host games. According to the ICC, a deal has been agreed to build a modular stadium with 34,000 seats in Nassau County, New York.
Despite being on the original shortlist, Morrisville, North Carolina, which staged Major League Cricket matches alongside Grand Prairie, was not chosen. Even for New York, Van Cortlandt Park in the Bronx borough of New York City was once considered, but the ICC has since chosen a different location. The new stadium, Eisenhower Park, is situated in the outskirts of New York City, 30 miles east of the Manhattan borough.

The ICC's next commercial cycle, which runs from 2024 to 2031 and was finalized in 2021, will feature eight men's global tournaments, the first of which will be the 2024 T20 World Cup. The ICC made a calculated strategic move in selecting the USA to co-host the event with the West Indies, with two objectives in mind: first, the North American market was recognized as a promising market for the game's expansion, and second, the ICC aimed to include cricket in the 2028 Los Angeles Olympic Games (LA28).

The 2020–21 World Cup in the United Arab Emirates and the 2022 World Cup in Australia had a revised format, with Super 12s coming after the first round.
The first round of the competition will see the 20 teams split into four groups of five teams each, with the top two teams from each group advancing to the Super 8s. The top two teams from each of the two groups of four that comprise the Super 8 teams will advance to the semi-finals.
