Dean Elgar Set to Bid Farewell to Test Cricket after India Series

South Africa's cricket fraternity is gearing up to bid adieu to one of its stalwarts as Dean Elgar, the former Test captain and a resilient opening batsman, revealed his decision to retire from international cricket post the New Year's Test against India. Elgar, at 36, has etched a remarkable legacy across a 12-year career and plans to culminate this remarkable journey at his "favourite stadium in the world" - Cape Town.

With 86 Test appearances under his belt, Elgar stands as South Africa's eighth-highest run-scorer in the format, amassing 5146 runs, a testament to his unwavering dedication and skill.
