With teams stacked with top-quality players, the tournament is going is be an exciting one. India, who have not won any World Cup since 2011, will need to be at their best to end their title drought. Let us look at the tournament in depth.
Format
The T20 World Cup 2024 will have 20 nations battling it out for the crown. All the participating sides are divided into four groups of five teams each. In the group stage, each team in a group will face the other once and the top two teams from each group will qualify for the Super-8 round. The teams in the Super Eight stage will again be split into two groups of four and the top two sides will make it to the semi-finals. The winners of the semis will cross swords in the finals.
Venues
The marquee tournament is being held in the USA and the Caribbean. Talking about the USA, three venues have been selected for the 16 games with Lauderhill, Dallas and New York being the spots for the matches. Coming to the venues in the Caribbean, 41 matches will be played across six different nations, with the semi-finals being held in Trinidad and Tobago and Guyana, The final showdown of the global event is to be played in Barbados.
