The IPL 2024 season became a complete disaster for both Hardik Pandya and the team Mumbai Indians. Hardik was moved from the Gujarat Titans because of the way he led the Gujarat Titans under his captaincy. But when he came back to Mumbai Indians in IPL 2024 his performance was poor both as a player and captain. The five-time champion team was the first to be get eliminated from the tournament.
After the terrible season, many former players trolled Hardik’s captaincy. However, the MI skipper has given a reply to all his critics. Hardik said that his captaincy is simple. He thinks that a captain should give his players confidence and love, in return to that they will give their 100 percent.
Hardik Pandya said, “I think my captaincy is simple. It’s just Hardik Pandya playing with 10 others of his teammates. The mantra is simple. Looking after the players, you give them the confidence, you give them the belief, you give them the love. They will go out and give more than 100 percent and that’s something I ask for”.
Further, he said that he is not a result-oriented person and his captaincy is straightforward. He said, “I am not someone who is result-oriented, but I am definitely approach-oriented. (I see) what kind of approach they (players) are showing, and I feel that is suiting the team, I think somewhere down the line it helps the team.”

Hardik had a successful season with Gujarat Titans, under his captaincy GT won their first title of IPL in their inaugural season, and in another season, they reached the playoffs, and even played the finals in which they lost the game to Chennai Super Kings.
Hardik wouldn’t have thought that he will be having such a disastrous season when the 30-year-old returned back to his old team from where he started his career. He had a terrible season and of which the team also suffered. MI currently stands at the bottom of the points table and has managed to win only 4 games out of 13 played so far.
