Kolkata were magnificent with bat and ball and won the game in a comprehensive manner by 98 runs. Harshit Rana, who was making a comeback in the game after a one-match ban, again created a buzz with his wicket celebration.
Harshit was reprimanded for his flying-kiss celebration on Mayank Agarwal’s wicket in the clash against Sunrisers Hyderabad in KKR’s tournament opener and was fined 60 percent of his match fee. The ace fast-bowler was again punished for his animated gesture on Abhisek Porel’s wicket in the encounter against Delhi Capitals. However, given it his second offence, he was charged 100 percent of his match-fee and handed one match ban.
However, Harshit did not shy away from hogging limelight for his wicket celebration . When KKR pacer got rid off LSG skipper KL Rahul in the 8th over of the game, he celebrated by keeping his finger on his lips. It seemed as if Harshit is indirectly taunting BCCI for handing him a one match ban. It was clearly evident that he was pleased when was forced to sit for a game.
Given Harshit was charged a match-ban, he did not feature in the encounter against Mumbai Indians. However, the youngster showed his class on his return in the match against Lucknow Super Giants and bagged a three-wicket haul including a prized wicket of Rahul. His wickets were instrumental in KKR securing a convincing win.
Harshit has been phenomenal in the ongoing edition of the cash-rich league. He has featured in nine matches and bagged 14 wickets at an economy of 9.56. Kolkata Knight Riders would hope Rana continues to shine with the ball in the forthcoming games.
