The start of the T20 World Cup 2024 is getting nearer and so is the deadline day for the participating nations to hand out their provisional 15-member squad. India still have some selection dilemmas at hand and one of them is that of a wicketkeeper-batter. India have many options to choose from but based on the current form, there are few names which are ahead in the pecking order.

Here are the top 3 contenders for India's wicket-keeper slot:

Rishabh Pant

Rishabh Pant has been in red-hot form since he returned to cricket after his horrific car accident. Though he took a couple of games to come into the groove, he has shown signs of his vintage self in the ongoing edition of the Indian Premier League. He has featured in nine games and smashed 342 runs at a strike rate of 161.32. Hence, he could be a perfect fit in India's middle order for the T20 World Cup 2024.

Sanju Samson

Sanju Samson has been a run-bank in the Indian Premier League and yet again, he has proven his consistency with the bat. He has featured in eight games thus far in the ongoing IPL season and aggregated 314 runs at a strike rate of 152.42. So, India could pick him for the global event and slot him in the middle order.

Dinesh Karthik

Dinesh Karthik has been magnificent in the 2024 season of the cash-rich league. Despite being in the twilight of his career, he has played the role of the finisher to perfection for Royal Challengers Bengaluru. He has featured in nine games and racked up 262 runs at a superb strike rate of 195.52. Thus, India can look at him for the T20 World Cup.
