Unveiling Yuvraj Singh as the T20 World Cup Brand Ambassador

Former Indian cricketer Yuvraj Singh, a six-hitting machine, has been designated as the T20 World Cup's brand ambassador. As the tournament's ambassador, the southpaw joins West Indies legends Chris Gayle and Usain Bolt. The USA and the Caribbean will co-host the T20 World Cup, which begins in June.

Yuvraj was One of the key players in India's triumph in the 2007 T20 World Cup in South Africa. Despite scoring just 148 runs in six games at an average of 29.60, the left-hander kept up a 194.74 strike rate. He also made history in the competition by becoming the first player in Twenty20 cricket to hit six sixes in a single over, against Stuart Broad of England. 

The southpaw also talks about how exciting the India vs. Pakistan match would be in New York and how lucky he is to be able to see it. Talking on this he said, “India’s clash against Pakistan in New York is going to be one of the biggest sporting fixtures in the world this year, so it’s a privilege to be a part of and to witness the best players in the world playing in a new stadium.”

He said, “Some of my fondest cricketing memories have come from playing at the T20 World Cup, including hitting six sixes in an over, so it’s very exciting to be part of this edition, which is set to be the biggest one yet. The West Indies is a great place to play cricket with the fans coming to watch creating a vibe that is completely unique to that part of the world, while cricket is also expanding in the USA and I’m excited to be part of that growth through the T20 World Cup.”

The first match of the ICC Men's T20 World Cup will take place at Grand Prairie Stadium in Texas on June 1–29, with co-hosts USA against Canada. Twenty teams will compete in 55 matches divided over 9 locations, with the championship game taking place in Barbados on June 29.
