KL Rahul is one of the top-drawer batters in the Indian cricketing circles. Over, the years, he has obliterated bowlers with his flamboyant stroke play and emerged as a run bank in the Indian Premier League. The ace batter has been a captain of Lucknow Super Giants since 2022 and under his leadership, LSG qualified for the knockout stages in the 15th and 16th editions of the Indian Premier League.

Recently, in a conversation on Ravi Ashwin’s YouTube show, Rahul opened up on his journey as a Karnataka cricketer and how M. Chinnaswamy Stadium is his first home. The dashing strokemaker also shared his views on returning to Royal Challengers Bengaluru in the years to come. Rahul stated that coming back to RCB would be an ideal scenario for him.

"You can never change the fact that I am a Karnataka player, I am from Bengaluru. KCA is my home, Chinnaswamy Stadium is my home first and then IPL is happening. Everyone wants to play for their home state or their home city and since I am from Bengaluru, playing for Bengaluru would have been ideal," Rahul said.

Rahul kick-started his journey in the Indian Premier League with Royal Challengers Bangalore back in 2013. After spending a season with RCB, Rahul represented Sunrisers Hyderabad in the next two editions of the cash-rich league. However, Rahul returned to the Bengaluru franchise in 2016 and he played a part in RCB’s dream run to the finals in the ninth edition. It will be interesting to see if the LSG skipper will return to RCB in the coming seasons.
