Chennai Super Kings have added Richard Gleeson to their squad as a replacement for Devon Conway. Gleeson has represented England in 6 T20Is and has 9 wickets under his name. He will join CSK for the reserve price of INR 50 Lac.
Conway represented Chennai Super Kings (CSK) over the last two IPL seasons. He scored 924 runs in 23 matches, which included nine half-centuries, and has a highest score of 92. Devon Conway earlier suffered a thumb injury and had surgery. It was estimated that his recovery from his injuries would take him about seven or eight weeks. Chennai Super Kings were therefore expecting him to return halfway through the competition. But now the star Kiwi batter has been removed from the competition, it seems that CSK has suffered a serious setback.
After their impressive victory over the Mumbai Indians in their last match, CSK is set to take on the Lucknow Super Giants on Friday on the two-paced field at Ekana Stadium. The two teams had different experiences in their previous two games. While Ruturaj Gaikwad's team, still headed by the legendary Mahendra Singh Dhoni, is entering the match on a winning streak, LSG, led by KL Rahul, has suffered a series of losses.
Despite their power, LSG's batting lineup doesn't exactly inspire the highest degree of confidence, so it will be interesting to see how they respond to an attack in which every bowler has a unique skill set.
