April 13, 2024 at 11:00 AMHardik Pandya is one of the finest all-rounders in the white-ball circuit at the moment. Besides his all-round skills, he has proven his captaincy credentials in the international arena and the Indian Premier League both. Hardik has been in the limelight after Mumbai Indians handed the captaincy from Rohit Sharma to the ace all-rounder.
Recently, Simon Doull made a shocking statement about Hardik during a conversation on Cricbuzz. The former New Zealand cricketer feels that Hardik is notably fit and he feels that the Mumbai Indians captain is not admitting the same. He has pointed out the sudden transition of Hardik from being the opening bowler for the five-time IPL champions to bowling a lot less as the reason for his claims.
“You go out and make a statement by opening the bowling in-game no.1, and suddenly, you are not required. He's injured. I'm telling you there is something wrong with him. He is not admitting it. But there is something wrong with him for sure. That is my gut feeling”, Doull said in conservation with Cricbuzz.
When the IPL 2024 started, Hardik used to bowl with the new ball but he has not rolled his arm over in the last few games. The Indian all-rounder had earlier stated that he would bowl at the right time. Hardik has been affected by injury troubles more often than not in the past and his fitness is key to not only the Mumbai franchise but also for the Indian team who will feature in the T20 World Cup 2024 in June.
