April 3, 2024 at 11:07 AMMI have a special outfit designed every season which they use to punish their players for not adhering to the rules set by the team management during an IPL season.
A video of Kishan in his new outfit going inside the airport terminal after getting out of the team bus is going viral on social media.
Mumbai Indians players will wear 'Superman jumpsuits' as a punishment for arriving late in practice sessions, team meetings, and departures.
As a result, when someone appears late for the meetings or the departure of the team bus, as a hilarious penalization, the player would be wearing a funny superhero costume on the way to their next arrival.
“I was told about it two days earlier, but I completely forgot. So, I missed my gym session. I'm feeling quite awkward, but still. That's why I haven't taken off my sunglasses inside the airport. I don't want to make eye contact with anyone. I won't make this mistake again. I will make sure of that,” Kishan had said back in 2018.
“Whoever is late will have to wear this special kit. I was late to the physio room. I never reached. That's why I have been punished. At the last, we were told to wear jeans, but I wore my tracks. When it comes to punctuality, I am always 10 minutes early,” Rahul Chahar, the then member of Mumbai Indians, had revealed.
In their defeat against the Rajasthan Royals (RR), Kishan, Kartikeya and two other players were held accountable for their tardiness, having arrived late for crucial team meetings. This breach of punctuality resulted in disciplinary measures, with the players being tasked to don superhero costumes
However, he wasn’t the sole participant in this amusing spectacle! Three other players, namely Kumar Kartikeya, Shams Mulani, and Nuwan Thushara, joined in the fun by sporting identical outfits, doubling the entertainment factor.
